Huelga de trabajadores de Forestal Arauco.
Hoy jueves 24 de septiembre han iniciado una paralización de actividades cerca de 20 mil trabajadores de la Forestal Arauco de 34 mil que en total trabajan para este holding.
Los trabajadores han impedido el acceso a las plantas de Cholguán (Yungay), Nueva Aldea y Horcones de Empresas Arauco S.A., principal empresa del sector forestal del país (60% de la producción), de propiedad del Holding COPEC S.A de la familia Angelini. Estas acciones son motivadas por exigencias de mejoras salariales y laborales. Muchos de los temas que se están poniendo como exigencia vienen desde el año 2007, cuando se prometieron un montón de cosas pero no se cumplieron.
Durante los meses de marzo y mayo de 2007 estuvieron en conflicto trabajadores forestales de cerca de 100 empresas contratistas de Forestal Arauco S.A. En esa oportunidad la acción decidida de los trabajadores, que tiene como hecho más simbólico y ejemplar la caída en combate de Rodrigo Cisterna, tuvo como resultado que la Empresa debiera sentarse a negociar colectivamente inter empresa por rama de la producción, cuestión que no estaba contemplada en la legislación burguesa.
El sector Forestal se caracteriza por tener un alto grado de subcontratación laboral con mucha flexibilización, temporalidad y dispersión física. Estas condiciones son un gran impedimento para la creación de organizaciones sindicales y la negociación con los empleadores. Así los miles de trabajadores no tienen un espacio físico común ni tampoco temporalmente ya que muchos de ellos son contratados estacionalmente; son muy pocos los trabajadores de planta y la mayoría de ellos trabaja en los aserraderos.
Bajo estas condiciones los trabajadores forestales hoy inician un nuevo proceso de lucha que intentará superar la legislación burguesa ya sea en sus exigencias como también en sus prácticas.
Así por ejemplo en Horcones cerca de 400 personas se tomaron la vía de ingreso a la empresa, acompañados de varios camiones cargados que bloquean el acceso. Mientras tanto en Cholguán y Nueva Aldea desde anoche que los accesos están bloqueados. Nadie puede salir ni entrar de la Empresa. En algunos sectores se han levantado barricadas con quemas de neumáticos.
Los perros de la reacción ya se encuentran dispuestos a reprimir a cerca de 1.000 trabajadores para evitar que se tomen la ruta del Itata. En la zona donde opera Forestal Arauco existe un elevado nivel de pobreza y aislamiento y el clamor popular es de respaldo hacia los trabajadores y de crítica a la Forestal. Ese malestar prepara las condiciones subjetivas para provocar la protesta popular contra los explotadores
La posición de la empresa según el gerente de Asuntos Públicos, Iván Chamorro, es la siguiente “cada sindicato debe negociar en forma directa con sus empleadores, a través de sus contratistas”. Con esto se busca mantener la atomización y aislamiento de los trabajadores haciendo retroceder lo ganado en 2007 cuando se obligó a la contraparte a negociar inter empresa reconociendo que todos terminan trabajando para la misma empresa mandante (Forestal Arauco S.A., que es la que se queda con las ganancias mayores) a pesar de que la gran mayoría de los trabajadores son contratados por subcontratistas que externalizan las funciones de la empresa.
Las exigencias de los trabajadores son de un sueldo mínimo de 250 mil para operarios. Los trabajadores exigen que este reajuste sea para todos y no solo para el sector productivo, sino también para los empleados del área de aserraderos, transporte y manejo de bosque entre otros.
Es de esperar que la lucha de los trabajadores forestales se apoya con la protesta y la lucha de otros sectores del pueblo.
